Rockville, MD, March 4, 2003 - On Friday, February 28, Saks Fifth Avenue hosted the “Best of Spring 2003” 14th annual charity fashion show to benefit the Katherine Thomas School at TLC, a non-profit organization that helps 2,600 Washington area children and adults with hearing, speech, language, or learning disabilities and neurological impairments achieve vocational and educational success. The show successfully raised over $12, 000 for KTS.
Highlights of this year’s show included Mistress of Ceremonies NBC’s NEWS Channel 4 Anchor Barbara Harrison, featured speaker and honorary chairperson Congresswoman Connie Morella. Sponsors were Bank of America, N.A. and Giant Food Inc.
Several local restaurants and caters donated the fare for the evenings cocktail reception such as Clyde’s, Tel Aviv Café, Ridgewells Caterer, la Madeleine, Tragara Ristorante, Whole Food’s and Richard’s Catering. The door prizes donated by Saks Fifth Avenue were a jeweled pin designed by Mindy Lam, an outfit from Laundry by Shelli Segal, a Clarins Skin Care gift basket, and a gift certificate to the Salon at Saks Fifth Avenue. Courtesy Jeep also donated a gift certificate for two individuals to play a round of golf at the TLC/Courtesy Jeep Golf and Tennis Classic on Monday, June 2, 2003.
