Well, the Summer is officially over and a new school year of adventure is off to a good start.  This is a short week which will end with the great Family Picnic.  I hope to see you there!

Grade 6 - Earth Science:  This week we will explore the concepts of the atom, compounds and mixtures.  This will help the students understand the structure of the materials that compose the mass of the Earth.

Vocabulary:  atom. proton, neutron, electron, element, compound, mixture.

Tuesday:  Worksheet on the structure of the atom.

Wednesday:  Homework on compounds and mixtures.

Grade 7 - Life Science:  We will examine the features that identifiy living things.  We will also begin our study of the structure of a cell.

Vocabulary:  organism, stimulus, response, development, reproduce, organic compounds, cell.

Tuesday:  Questions on the charactistics of living things. 

Wedbesday:  Questions on the parts of the cell.

We have a break on Thursday, but resume classes on Friday!  Have a great week and again, I hope to see you at the Picnic!  Also, don't forget the bookfair.  This is a great opportunity to do some early holiday shopping!
