WELCOME TO TRANSITION SERVICES.....

Wishing Everyone a Happy,Healthy and Prosperous New Year!

  Our 11th grade Interns continue to excel at their internship locations. They are learning new job skills and developing ongoing interpersonal skills.

  Reminder-All Students need "100" Volunteer Community Service Hours to graduate. Some of you are doing great others need to start working. Please see me for suggestions.

 We continue to discuss METRO rail and bus usage. Practice with your family.

  • We are exploring the "world of work". Assessing students strengths and skill levels. 
  • Help your family with chores such as..... laundry,dishwashing,vacuuming,preparing healthy meals,lawncare etc.
  • Job Tips: Always arrive at your job on time, work your very best everyday and if you are ever sick call your supervisor.  
  • We will review the "10 Steps to a Successful Interview". 
  • Once a week go to a business and pick up an application.You will need the managers name and phone number also. Pick up the form in my office.
  • Update your resume as needed.

 Now is a good time to think about summer jobs. Look around your neigbborhood and talk with the store managers. Submit your application early.

 Attention 11th grade parents....Please submit your application to the following agencies. For short term adult services -Maryland students-Division of Rehabilitation Services(DORS), District of Columbia students-Rehabilitation Services(RSA),Virginia students-Department of Rehabilitation Services(DRS). For long term adult services-Developmental Disabilities Administration(DDA). If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact us.

 All 12th graders should continue researching post-secondary education and employment oportunities.

 If any parents have business connections for possible student internship positions please contact us.
