Week of Aug. 30, 2010
U.S. History -- Students have been thinking about this past summer as history. They are learning about putting events in chronological order and will be learning to make a time line. Their homework assignment for Thursday night, Sept. 2, is to make a list of six important and/or fun events that happened last summer. They have a worksheet for this which included complete directions. Please see the link below.

U.S. Government -- Students are continuing to learn about the main purposes of government. For homework Thursday night, Sept. 2, they have a worksheet entitled, "Main Purposes of Government. Numbered items at the top of the page are categories of government purposes, and the lettered items at the bottom of the page are more specific examples. For each example, students should decide which one (or more)category this example matches. I am only expecting students to make a good effort on this assignment because it is complicated and included many unfamiliar words. As part of their effort, they should underline words or phrases they don't understand. I will check each student's effort on this task, and then we will work together on it in class tomorrow.
